👋 Hey, I'm Derek.

I'm currently based in Perth, Western Australia where I work as a Software Developer. I have a knack for being able to take something that's complex and make it simple enough so anyone can get their head around it.

I've always been creative - my family still laughs about the time I sculpted a toaster out of Play-Doh when I was 3 years old. As an adult, this creativity has manifested itself as being innovative with programming and photography (and sometimes both).

In my spare time, I love playing guitar and taking photos with my camera. I also enjoy travelling to new places which is why you'll find me dreaming of the next destination on Instagram! I have been fortunate enough to explore many parts of this planet through travel - it's amazing how different cultures can be but still share similar values at heart.

I love coffee! It's not just that it gets me going but also because it tastes good and is so satisfying to drink. When not working, you'll find me trying out different coffee blends at local cafes; or dreaming up new ideas for my next project!
